How To Immigrate To British Columbia

We have shown you some of the jobs that are in demand in the province, let’s look at some immigration programs through which you can immigrate to Canada and we are going to be looking at the best two programs that would be easy for you to immigrate to Canada. They are:

  • The Express Entry System

This is the most popular immigration program in Canada and it is seen as the fastest immigration program in Canada as it has a processing time as short as 6 months.

The program was initiated by the Canadian government to speed up immigration process in Canada as it is looking to meet up with its target of inviting over 1.23 million immigrants into the country between 2021 to 2023 to fill up labour shortages in the country and contribute to the growth and development of the country.

This program is an online program and you are expected to create an online profile where you fill in some information based on the requirements of the program and these information include age, language proficiency, work experience, education etc.

You are expected to create your profile within 60 days after which you will be placed in a pool draw with some other applicants and a score will be given to each candidate based on the information they filled in their profile and these scores will be matched against a cut-off score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and applicants whose scores meet or exceed the CRS cut-off score will be selected to receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency in Canada.

On getting this Invitation to Apply, you must do so within 60 days and submit the application.

If you were not successful in the first draw you participated in, you can improve your CRS score by updating your profile with any important skill you have acquired and participate in another draw as the draws are done twice in a month.

One interesting thing about the Express Entry System is that you don’t need a job offer to be eligible for the program but having a job offer will increase your chances of getting selected.

  • The British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program (BC PNP)

This is one of the Provincial Nomination Programs in Canada and it is for the province of British Columbia. The program is to nominate foreign workers who have the necessary skill and experience needed to work in the province and contribute to the growth and development of the province.
