For a piece of Mykonos in the heart of the Hamptons, fans of Greek cuisine head to Sofia Crokos’ Elaia Estiatorio, a minimally chic, whitewashed eatery dishing out authentic Greek recipes like crispy fried feta, grilled baby calamari and trios of salty dips that conjure up visions of life on the Cyclades. With its high design and stunning interiors, it’s no surprise that Crokos’ first life was spent running an event design and planning company, where she applied her polished style to parties and dinners throughout New York and beyond. When she’s in need of some inspiration, Sofia heads abroad, whether to visit world-renowned restaurants or hit up local markets. Here, she shares her travel tips – from meditating in the morning to finding natural light in the bathroom, to conquering jet lag the Eastern way.
